What process is used to prepare/train Non ICU nurses to transition into ICU/ED? Are you using the Team Nursing Model of Care?

Hello Everyone,

Is there a process you are utilizing to prepare/train nurses for transition into the ICU and ED? What Model of Care are you utilizing? Thank you in advance.

Stay Safe,

Yasmin

We are doing tiered nursing education at our pediatric hospital. We’ll be using a team nursing model. Specifically, we’re leaning heavily on the AACN resources for ARDS content review: covid 19 modules, adult pocket guides. We’re also using virtual training and in person simulation for nursing care of a patient with an advanced airway and mechanical ventilation for our acute cate nurses. Hope this is helpful
